This song makes me cry thinking about how much I already love this little boy and how much joy he'll bring to our lives. The most incredible part is that as much as I think I love him now, I know deep down that I truly cannot comprehend the depth of it until he actually gets here.  Until then... Godspeed, little man.

I've been so lazy about posting here, I thought it was time for an update!

First of all- I'm 23 weeks and 4 days into the pregnancy and things are going great!  I truly can't complain.  I thought I'd make a generic list to overview everything:
1. I started feeling movement around 17 weeks- just little flutters, but they have steadily grown into some harder kicks, punches, and somersaults.  My husband is able to feel them from time to time on the outside, which has truly been my favorite thing about the pregnancy so far.  Every once in a while, the baby will be less active for a few days, and I'll start to panic, but my doctor told me not to worry and it's completely normal. 

2. IT'S A BOY!!! 
We found out at our 20 week ultrasound and couldn't be happier.  Knowing the sex makes this so much more real and has helped me to bond with the baby more.  We are still stuck on names- Liam Thomas or Preston Thomas...can't decide!  I am looking for boy bedding and have already started buying boy clothes. 

3. Physically, I'm feeling ok, but just recently, I've started having some BH contractions, which has been a little scary, but I also know that it's normal at this stage.  It's a non-painful tightening of my entire belly and lower abdomen... along with the round ligament pain and occasionally leaky breasts, I know it's just one of those things that is going to happen, but keeping an eye on it nonetheless.  I've also got a lovely rash on both breasts, which I think is from two new maternity bras...?  Who knows, I also used some of that Lansinoh breast cream because my nipples were cracking (cute, huh?), so I guess it could be from that, too.  I called the nurse today and she said go braless as much as possible and don't put any lotion or cream on over the weekend.  If it's not better, to come in on Monday.  I'll probably wait until Thursday, since that is my next appt.  Also in the physical realm of things- I started having awful back and rib pain on my right side, so I went to a chiropractor at my doctor's advice... I felt considerably better after the first adjustment, and will go to my third adjustment tomorrow. 

In other news, we got a new car to accommodate baby stuff!  We sold our paid-for little 2 door Honda Civic for an actual mom-mobile.  I really love it- it's a Volkswagen Passat station wagon.  It's used, but super safe and has plenty of room for a carseat, stroller, and my giant dog in the back.

We are still so excited- some days I just dream about what he's going to look like, be like, etc... Other days, I'm worried I'll somehow fuck it all up.  Either way, we'll find out at the end of the summer. ;)

So today's test is with "SMU" and doesn't look much darker to me.  I'm worried my HCG isn't doubling correctly and can't wait to stop by CVS or Walgreens to get an FRER today.  I hope they are open....  Also can't wait to call for a beta tomorrow.  I'm still in shock and of course, nervous as hell.   (But a little excited and hopeful....is that ok?)
